Rarity
In the Ekuus universe, each NFT (horse) is distinguished not only by its primary and secondary attributes but also by the Rarity attribute, which is seamlessly integrated into its competitive identity. This attribute classifies horses into two fundamental categories: Regular and Rare. While Regular horses operate solely based on their inherent statistics, Rare horses possess a special ability that activates at critical moments during the race, providing them with an additional tactical advantage.
Definition and Categories
Regular: Horses classified as Regular rely exclusively on their intrinsic attributes, without any extra bonuses during competition.
Rare: Rare horses, in addition to their unique base values, incorporate a special ability that is activated based on strategic conditions defined by the Ekuus system. This ability is configured through a set of essential parameters:
Ability: The identifier of the ability, which determines its nature (for example, "Sprinter" or another ability to be introduced later).
ActivationRange: The range, measured in meters, within which the ability can be activated. This parameter determines the initial segment of the race where critical segments are evaluated for activation.
Probability: The activation probability, expressed as a percentage, that the ability will trigger in each evaluated segment.
Effect: The level increase applied to a key attribute (such as Acceleration) when the ability is activated.
It is important to note that even if two horses share the same ability name, their parameters (ActivationRange, Probability, and Effect) are generated individually. This means that two Rare horses with the "Sprinter" ability can perform differently during a race, adding variety and strategic depth to the gameplay.
How the Ability Works in the Context of Ekuus
The special ability of a Rare horse is activated based on the segmentation of the race:
Segmentation and Evaluation: The race is divided into segments (for example, 100-meter segments). Within the activation range, each segment is evaluated to determine whether the ability can be activated.
Activation Conditions: For the ability to trigger, the player must choose a medium or high race intensity during those segments—an integral part of the Ekuus strategy. This tactical decision enables players to exploit critical moments during the competition.
Calculation and Application of the Effect: In each eligible segment, a check is performed based on the defined probability. If the condition is met, the ability activates and applies the effect, temporarily boosting a crucial attribute—such as Acceleration—by the specified value.
Impact on Gameplay and NFT Value
Strategy and Tactics: The segment-based activation system, combined with the probability of activation and the magnitude of the effect, introduces a layer of strategic depth. Players must carefully manage their intensity and timing to maximize the ability's impact during the race.
Collectibility and Value: Rare horses, by incorporating special abilities with individually generated parameters, become highly coveted. Their uniqueness lies not only in their base statistics but also in their tactical potential, which increases their value on the secondary market.
Diversity and Customization: The fact that two horses with the same ability can have different ActivationRange, Probability, and Effect values ensures a wide diversity within the ecosystem. This encourages players to develop customized strategies and leverage the unique strengths of each Rare horse.
